Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams in designing quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation
- Develop novel error mitigation techniques for NISQ-era quantum processors
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Secure $2M+ in DoE/NIST research grants annually
- Advise government quantum policy committees on technical standards
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
- Drive commercial applications in cryptography and materials science
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years in quantum computing research with peer-reviewed publications
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proven experience securing federal research grants
- Proficiency with Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum SDKs
- Deep understanding of quantum supremacy benchmarks
- Strong background in machine learning for quantum systems
- US citizenship required for government collaboration projects
