Our Austin-based innovation hub offers unparalleled resources for thought leadership, including dedicated R&D labs and partnerships with MIT's Future Lab. This position requires a blend of analytical rigor and creative thinking to navigate complex technological shifts including AI governance, quantum computing adoption, and sustainable tech transitions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain 5-year strategic foresight frameworks for emerging technologies (2026-2031)
- Lead cross-functional workshops to identify disruptive opportunities in AI, biotech, and clean energy
- Produce trend reports and scenario analyses for executive decision-making
- Design innovation pipelines integrating quantum computing and next-gen IoT systems
- Partner with product teams to embed future-proofing into development cycles
- Represent company at global tech foresight forums (Davos, Web Summit)
- Establish KPIs for measuring innovation impact and adoption readiness
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Systems Engineering, or related field
- 7+ years in strategic planning with Fortune 500 tech companies
- Proven expertise in scenario planning and horizon scanning methodologies
- Deep understanding of exponential technologies (quantum, AI, synthetic biology)
- Certification in Foresight methodologies (e.g., from AC/FS)
- Published thought leadership in tech innovation journals
- Experience with futures simulation tools (e.g., Gartner Hype Cycle, Delphi method)
- Portfolio demonstrating successful 5-year technology predictions
