Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and security systems 24/7 to detect and respond to cyber threats in real-time.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Investigate and analyze security incidents, creating detailed reports and remediation plans.
- Manage and maintain Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement robust security protocols and access controls.
- Provide security awareness training to staff and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations (e.g., NIST, FISMA) and internal policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Certification preferred: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GSEC.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity or network administration.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, and network architecture.
- Experience with incident response and forensics.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
