Job Description
Join the forefront of computational revolution at Nexus Quantum Systems. We're pioneering quantum-resistant cryptography solutions that will secure digital infrastructure through 2050. As our Quantum Algorithm Architect, you'll design next-gen cryptographic protocols that outperform classical systems while maintaining quantum-safe standards.
This hybrid role offers the flexibility to split time between our Austin innovation lab and our secure research facility. You'll collaborate with Nobel laureates and contribute to projects that directly impact national security and global finance systems. We provide cutting-edge resources, including access to quantum annealing hardware and a $50M research budget.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum-resistant cryptographic algorithms for enterprise applications
- Lead research on post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standards development
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum algorithm performance
- Develop security frameworks for quantum communication channels
- Author peer-reviewed research papers and patent disclosures
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Present findings at international cryptography conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Cryptography, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years experience in quantum algorithm development
- Proficiency with Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Published research in quantum cryptography or quantum information
- Deep understanding of NIST PQC standardization process
- Strong background in algebraic number theory and lattice-based cryptography
- Security clearance eligibility (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with quantum hardware integration (IBM Q, Rigetti, etc.)
