Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm development for cryptography and optimization problems
- Oversee superconducting qubit hardware prototyping and testing
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals
- Manage $5M+ research budget and 15+ person cross-functional team
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Partner with government agencies (DARPA, NSF) on quantum security initiatives
- Present breakthrough findings at IEEE Quantum Week and industry summits
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years of quantum computing research with top-tier institutions
- Published 10+ papers on quantum algorithms or hardware
- Experience with IBM Quantum Experience, Rigetti, or D-Wave systems
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Proven ability to secure federal research grants ($1M+)
- Strong background in machine learning and high-performance computing
- Patent portfolio in quantum technologies preferred
