Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical applications in AI and cryptography
- Lead experimental research on superconducting quantum processors at 20mK temperatures
- Develop error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum chip architectures
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE conferences
- Secure $1M+ in research funding through NSF and DARPA grants
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing focus
- 3+ years experience with superconducting qubit systems or ion trap technologies
- Published research in quantum error correction or quantum algorithms
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, and quantum circuit optimization frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mechanisms and mitigation strategies
- Experience writing Python/C++ for quantum simulation at scale
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional research teams
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government contract work
