Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Lead experiments on superconducting qubits with cutting-edge cryogenic systems
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve quantum advantage
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Mentor PhD candidates and interns in quantum physics fundamentals
- Collaborate with AI teams to hybridize quantum-classical computing workflows
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from DARPA and NSF
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (2020-2025 graduates preferred)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum hardware (IBM Q, Rigetti, or Google Quantum)
- Proficiency in Python, Qiskit, and quantum circuit optimization
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics at graduate level
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government collaborations
