Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for complex optimization problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum circuits on superconducting and photonic platforms
- Develop error mitigation techniques to achieve practical quantum advantage
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate quantum prototypes into commercial applications
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers and publish in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault-tolerant architectures
- Expertise in quantum hardware platforms (superconducting qubits, ion traps, etc.)
- Strong background in linear algebra and complex analysis
- Proven track record of securing research funding
- Experience mentoring graduate researchers or interns
