Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols for quantum systems operating at 100+ qubit scales
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum-classical hybrid computing architectures
- Lead cross-functional research initiatives in quantum simulation and materials discovery
- Secure and manage federal research grants ($5M+ annual budget)
- Mentor PhD candidates and publish in Nature/Science journals
- Partner with industry leaders to commercialize quantum computing solutions
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics with 5+ years industry experience
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals (Nature, Science, PRL)
- Expertise in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and quantum hardware interfaces
- Proficiency in quantum error correction codes and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience with high-performance computing clusters and GPU-accelerated systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure government research grants (NSF/DOE)
