Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization problems
- Lead cross-functional teams in quantum error correction research
- Develop scalable quantum circuit architectures for commercial applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate quantum processors
- Secure NSF and DARPA grants for cutting-edge quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
- Publish in Nature Physics and IEEE Transactions on Quantum Engineering
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum machine learning and NISQ-era optimization
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or ion traps
- Demonstrated ability to secure government research funding
- Strong background in quantum error correction protocols
