Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error correction protocols for quantum processors
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bridge theoretical models with physical implementations
- Secure $5M+ in annual research grants from NSF, DARPA, and private sector partners
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments and parallel processing
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research funding
- Expertise in quantum machine learning or quantum cryptography
- Strong track record of interdisciplinary collaboration with engineering teams
