Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental research on quantum hardware systems including superconducting qubits and ion traps
- Collaborate with software engineers to develop quantum-classical hybrid computing frameworks
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and drive quantum literacy across the organization
- Secure research grants and partnerships with academic institutions and government agencies
- Contribute to patent development for proprietary quantum technologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of research experience
- Expertise in quantum error correction, quantum simulation, or quantum machine learning
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and classical high-performance computing
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science journals or top-tier quantum conferences
- Experience with cryogenic systems and quantum control hardware
- Proven ability to secure competitive research funding (NSF, DOE, DARPA)
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex concepts
