Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional research projects in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop hybrid quantum-classical computing frameworks
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and conferences (Nature, IEEE, etc.)
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from DARPA and NSF
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information science
- Translate theoretical breakthroughs into commercial IP for 2026 product roadmaps
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 3+ years industry experience
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithm development (QAOA, VQE, Shor's variants)
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or topological quantum computing
- Experience with cloud quantum platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, Amazon Braket)
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and complexity theory
- Track record of securing government or corporate research funding
