Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for cryptography optimization and machine learning acceleration
- Design and implement quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Lead experimental research on superconducting qubits and photonic quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Publish groundbreaking research in Nature/Science journals and secure federal research grants
- Mentor PhD candidates and drive quantum education initiatives at partner institutions
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering (post-doc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with published peer-reviewed papers
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and simulation frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Proficiency in quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and information theory
- Track record of securing NSF or DoE quantum research funding
- Experience leading cross-functional R&D teams in high-stakes environments
