Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems in machine learning and cryptography
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes in cryogenic environments
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate quantum solutions into commercial applications
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at international quantum computing conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to patent development for novel quantum methodologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of quantum research experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, or Cirq) and quantum circuit design
- Published record in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Hands-on experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra, complex analysis, and statistical mechanics
- Demonstrated ability to secure external research funding through NSF or DOE grants
