Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy benchmarks
- Design error mitigation protocols for near-term quantum processors
- Publish 2-3 high-impact papers annually in Nature/Science journals
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum architectures
- Mentor junior researchers and quantum computing interns
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from NSF/DARPA
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing conferences
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerance
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Experience with superconducting or photonic quantum systems
- Track record of translating theoretical models to experimental results
