Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for quantum processors operating at 1000+ qubits
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum gate operations and coherence times
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning applications for 2026-era AI systems
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at international quantum computing conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum curriculum development
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Publication record in quantum computing or related fields
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments and parallel programming
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
