Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for practical applications
- Lead qubit stability research targeting 10,000-hour coherence times
- Develop quantum error-correction techniques for fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams on quantum processor architecture
- Publish 2+ peer-reviewed papers annually in Nature/Science
- Secure $5M+ in quantum computing research grants
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum theory and experimentation
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithm design (Shor's, Grover's, VQE)
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published work in quantum error correction or quantum hardware
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants (NSF/DOE)
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
