Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and transcribe them into written text with a high degree of accuracy and speed.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, punctuation, and spelling errors.
- Adhere to specific formatting guidelines and style guides provided by the client.
- Manage file organization and maintain confidentiality of sensitive medical and legal information.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity and turnaround time targets.
- Utilize transcription software and tools effectively to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with the quality assurance team regarding unclear audio or technical issues.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or certification in transcription is preferred.
- Proven experience in transcription (medical or general) with a typing speed of at least 60 WPM.
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar and punctuation.
- Reliable home office setup with high-speed internet and a noise-free environment.
- Proficiency in using speech-to-text software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Attention to detail and strong listening skills are essential.
