The Role:
As a Remote Transcriptionist, you will be responsible for converting audio recordings of medical dictations into written reports. Your work directly impacts patient care by ensuring that medical records are accurate, timely, and compliant with HIPAA regulations. We are looking for a self-starter who can maintain high productivity levels without compromising on quality.
Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical consultations and transcribe them into accurate text documents using our proprietary software.
- Ensure strict adherence to medical terminology, grammar, punctuation, and formatting guidelines.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for clarity, completeness, and client satisfaction before submission.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity targets while maintaining a 98%+ accuracy rate.
- Manage file uploads, downloads, and data entry securely within the company database.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to resolve ambiguous audio or terminology issues.
- Stay updated on evolving medical coding and documentation best practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal transcription or medical documentation program is preferred.
- Proven experience in medical transcription (3+ years preferred) or a strong aptitude for general transcription.
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 60 WPM) with a proven track record of accuracy (98%+).
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, dedicated home office environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and experience with transcription software (e.g., Dragon, Express Scribe).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet strict deadlines.
