Responsibilities
- Convert spoken medical dictation into clear, concise, and accurate written documents using specialized software.
- Format and proofread transcripts to ensure they meet strict medical standards and client guidelines.
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times.
- Manage high-volume workloads while meeting daily and weekly deadlines.
- Research and verify medical terminology, drugs, and procedures to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional medical transcription experience required.
- Exceptional listening skills and typing speed of 60+ WPM.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Reliable, high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, distraction-free workspace.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and transcription software (e.g., Dragon, Express Scribe).
