Responsibilities
- Manage Patient Schedules: Expertly handle incoming calls and emails to book, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments using our electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Patient Communication: Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries, verifying insurance eligibility, and sending appointment reminders.
- Coordination: Collaborate closely with clinical staff, nurses, and physicians to ensure the schedule is optimized and conflicts are resolved immediately.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, demographics, and insurance information in the database.
- Administrative Support: Assist with general office duties, including filing, faxing, and preparing new patient packets to ensure a smooth intake process.
- Compliance: Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding patient confidentiality and data security.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, medical reception, or patient scheduling role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with medical software (Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or similar) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot scheduling conflicts and find effective solutions quickly.
