The Role:
As a Weekend Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring system health, deploying hotfixes, and resolving urgent tickets that require manual intervention. You will collaborate with a global team to maintain the highest standards of uptime and security.
Responsibilities
- Monitor system health, performance metrics, and alerting systems during off-peak hours.
- Execute urgent code deployments, hotfixes, and database maintenance without disrupting weekday operations.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical tickets escalated from the primary support team.
- Perform security patches and infrastructure upgrades to ensure system resilience.
- Document incident reports and create runbooks for future reference.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to optimize CI/CD pipelines for weekend maintenance windows.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in backend software development (Node.js, Python, or Go preferred).
- Strong understanding of database management (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis).
- Demonstrated experience working in a remote-first or shift-based environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
