Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping next-gen technologies with 3-5 year commercialization horizons
- Develop strategic roadmaps for quantum-AI hybrid systems and decentralized infrastructure
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify emerging threats/opportunities in global tech ecosystems
- Partner with C-suite to integrate future-tech strategies into corporate vision
- Secure $2M+ annual R&D budget through compelling innovation proposals
- Mentor junior technologists in future-proof skill development
- Publish thought leadership in top-tier tech publications (IEEE, Nature Tech)
Qualifications
- 10+ years in technology R&D with proven track record of shipping future-focused products
- Expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (quantum computing, neuromorphic chips, or Web3)
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science/Engineering with peer-reviewed publications
- Experience securing federal/state innovation grants ($500K+)
- Strong grasp of ethical frameworks for autonomous systems
- Proficiency in scenario planning tools and technology forecasting methodologies
- Published white papers on technology's societal impact post-2025
- Fluency in at least one quantum programming language (Qiskit, Cirq)
