Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain enterprise systems during overnight hours, ensuring 99.9% uptime
- Resolve Tier 2-3 technical issues including server administration, network troubleshooting, and cybersecurity incidents
- Implement system patches, updates, and configuration changes during maintenance windows
- Document technical procedures and create knowledge base articles for day-shift teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during system migrations and critical deployments
- Perform proactive infrastructure health checks and capacity planning
- Provide emergency support during critical business hours as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of enterprise IT support experience with 2+ years in night shift operations
- Expertise in Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V)
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent cybersecurity certification required
- Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira) and monitoring tools (Nagios, SolarWinds)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during off-hours
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for handover documentation
- Valid Alaska driver's license for occasional on-site equipment retrieval
