Responsibilities
- Monitor and moderate real-time chat communications across multiple platforms (social media, gaming, forums) with 24/7 coverage rotation
- Enforce community guidelines and platform policies with decisive yet empathetic conflict resolution
- Document and escalate policy violations, emerging trends, and potential security threats to the moderation lead
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, security, marketing) to refine moderation strategies
- Train new moderators on platform-specific tools and escalation protocols
- Analyze chat data to identify behavioral patterns and recommend policy improvements
- Maintain accurate moderation logs and activity reports for compliance review
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional chat moderation experience in high-traffic platforms (>1M users)
- Proven ability to de-escalate volatile situations while maintaining professionalism
- Advanced proficiency in moderation tools (e.g., ModTools, Kevlar, Talkwalker)
- Exceptional written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision across multiple time zones
- Familiarity with digital platform policies (TOS, COPPA, GDPR)
- Experience training and mentoring junior moderators
- Background in psychology, sociology, or conflict resolution preferred
