Responsibilities
- System Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the stability of production environments, servers, and databases during low-traffic periods.
- Incident Response: Lead the triage and resolution of critical technical incidents and outages occurring after hours.
- Deployment Management: Execute automated and manual deployments, rollbacks, and patch management ensuring zero downtime.
- Code Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks in legacy codebases and refactor them for better efficiency.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles for the night shift team.
- Collaboration: Bridge the gap between night and day shift teams through clear, asynchronous communication.
- Security Audits: Perform routine security checks and vulnerability assessments on internal systems.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, or IT Support.
- Remote Work: Proven track record of successfully working in a remote, asynchronous environment.
- Shift History: Demonstrated ability and willingness to work night shifts or rotating schedules.
- Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in Linux, Python, or Node.js, and familiarity with AWS or Azure.
- Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently.
- Communication: Clear written communication skills for documenting technical processes.
- Location: Must reside within the United States (Seattle, WA preferred).
