This role blends strategic foresight with hands-on prototyping in our Austin Innovation Hub, where we're building the future today.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the 2026 technology foresight framework through horizon scanning and trend analysis
- Lead cross-functional 'Future Labs' prototyping sessions for AI, biotech, and quantum computing integration
- Author quarterly '2026 Impact Briefs' for executive stakeholders and industry partners
- Architect ethical governance protocols for next-gen autonomous systems
- Collaborate with product teams to embed future-proofing principles in development lifecycles
- Represent the company at global futurist forums and technology summits
- Mentor junior futurists in strategic foresight methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Futures Studies, Technology Innovation, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 5+ years in strategic foresight, innovation consulting, or emerging tech R&D
- Deep expertise in at least three of these domains: AI ethics, quantum computing, neurotech, or synthetic biology
- Proven track record of translating foresight into commercial roadmaps
- Exceptional systems thinking and scenario planning capabilities
- Experience with horizon scanning tools (e.g., Delphi method, weak signal analysis)
- Published thought leadership in futurist or technology journals
