Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI ethics frameworks aligned with IEEE 7001 and EU AI Act standards
- Lead cross-functional audits of machine learning models for bias mitigation and fairness
- Develop governance protocols for autonomous systems requiring human oversight
- Partner with legal teams to navigate evolving regulatory landscapes in 2026+
- Create transparency mechanisms for explainable AI (XAI) in high-stakes applications
- Establish continuous monitoring systems for ethical compliance in production environments
- Train stakeholders on responsible AI deployment and ethical decision-making protocols
Qualifications
- PhD in AI Ethics, Philosophy, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years practical experience
- Expertise in bias/fairness evaluation tools (Aequitas, Fairlearn, IBM AI Fairness 360)
- Deep understanding of global AI regulations (EU AI Act, US AI Bill of Rights, OECD AI Principles)
- Proven experience implementing governance frameworks for generative AI systems
- Strong background in technical auditing of ML pipelines and model deployment
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex ethical concepts to technical/non-technical audiences
- Published research in AI ethics or governance at venues like NeurIPS Ethics, FAccT, or ACM FAccT
