Responsibilities
- Convert audio and video files into accurate, grammatically correct text documents using industry-standard software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure 100% accuracy and adherence to specific style guides.
- Adhere to strict deadlines while maintaining high productivity levels.
- Use speech recognition software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking) to enhance typing speed and efficiency.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and data security standards at all times.
- Communicate effectively with the quality assurance team to resolve complex audio challenges.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Transcription or related field preferred.
- Minimum typing speed of 60 words per minute (wpm).
- Proficiency with transcription tools (Express Scribe, FTW Transcriber) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Previous experience in medical or legal transcription is a plus but not mandatory.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home office environment.
