Responsibilities
- Listen to and transcribe medical dictations into accurate, formatted text documents with high speed and precision.
- Proofread and edit transcribed reports for grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology consistency.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and client confidentiality agreements.
- Utilize provided equipment and proprietary software to manage daily transcription queues and meet deadlines.
- Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous dictations and resolve formatting issues.
- Maintain organized digital archives of completed reports and secure filing systems.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on evolving medical coding and software features.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Transcription program is highly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of professional medical transcription experience.
- Typing speed of 65+ WPM with 99% accuracy.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transcription-specific software (e.g., Emdat, MS Word).
- Excellent written English skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently in a remote setting.
