Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate complex appointment schedules for healthcare providers and patients using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, answering inquiries and directing them to the appropriate department.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and prepare necessary documentation prior to appointments.
- Communicate effectively with patients via phone and email to confirm appointments and reduce no-show rates.
- Update and maintain accurate records of patient visits, referrals, and test results.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve scheduling conflicts and ensure optimal provider utilization.
- Assist in the preparation of daily reports and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or certification in Medical Office Administration is a plus.
- Proven experience in a scheduling or administrative role within a healthcare setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional phone demeanor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with EHR software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends if required.
