Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization problems in logistics, finance, and AI
- Develop error-correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware performance metrics
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Secure $5M+ in government and industry grants for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science from Tier 1 institution
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with quantum hardware (superconducting/ion trap)
- Published research in quantum error correction or algorithm development
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Quil)
- Deep understanding of quantum entanglement and decoherence mechanisms
- Track record of securing federal research grants (NSF, DARPA, DOE)
- Experience leading cross-disciplinary quantum research teams
- Expertise in topological quantum computing or quantum machine learning
