Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions with classical computing frameworks
- Publish high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals and present at industry conferences
- Develop quantum software tools and SDKs for developer adoption
- Secure external funding through NSF, DoE, and industry partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of quantum innovation
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years quantum research experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Quil)
- Strong publication record in quantum computing or condensed matter physics
- Expertise in quantum error correction protocols and topological qubits
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum hardware
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Preference for candidates with startup or high-growth tech experience
