Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for complex optimization problems
- Develop novel error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Lead cross-functional teams in translating theoretical models into functional quantum circuits
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at IEEE Quantum Week
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to co-design quantum annealing architectures
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from NSF and DARPA
- Mentor postdoctoral fellows in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in Nature or Science on quantum algorithms
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum circuit optimization
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface, LDPC)
- Deep understanding of quantum annealing and NISQ-era limitations
- Track record of securing federal research grants
