Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop quantum error-correction techniques to overcome decoherence challenges
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum circuit performance on current and next-gen processors
- Lead research publications in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.) and present at major quantum conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure external funding through NSF, DOE, and DARPA grants
- Develop quantum security protocols for post-quantum cryptography applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing experience with Qiskit, Cirq, or similar frameworks
- Published research in quantum information theory or quantum algorithms
- Expertise in quantum circuit optimization and error mitigation techniques
- Strong programming skills in Python/C++ with parallel computing experience
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Experience with cloud quantum platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket, etc.)
- Track record of securing research funding or patents in quantum technologies
