Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional R&D projects in collaboration with hardware and software engineering teams
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier scientific journals and conferences
- Develop quantum simulation frameworks for commercial applications
- Establish ethical guidelines for quantum technology deployment
- Mentor junior researchers and drive quantum literacy initiatives
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA proposals
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum programming experience with frameworks like Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#
- Publication record in quantum computing or high-performance computing
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Experience with cloud quantum computing platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket)
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementations
