Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and transcribe physician reports into accurate, grammatically correct text documents.
- Proofread and edit transcripts for clarity, grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology accuracy.
- Ensure strict adherence to medical coding standards and privacy regulations (HIPAA).
- Format documents according to client-specific style guides and templates.
- Meet daily and weekly productivity and quality assurance targets.
- Communicate effectively with the medical team regarding clarifications or complex dictation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or certification in Medical Transcription preferred.
- Proven experience as a transcriptionist, preferably in a medical setting.
- Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60-80 WPM).
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Strong command of the English language and grammar.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
- Ability to meet strict deadlines and maintain confidentiality.
