Responsibilities
- Transcribe medical dictations including patient histories, examination notes, operative reports, and discharge summaries with 98%+ accuracy
- Ensure adherence to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality protocols at all times
- Utilize advanced transcription software and medical terminology databases for efficient document processing
- Format documents according to client specifications and standard medical reporting guidelines
- Perform quality checks and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, and medical accuracy
- Meet daily/weekly productivity targets while maintaining consistent turnaround times
- Collaborate with quality assurance team to resolve discrepancies and improve documentation
- Stay current with evolving medical terminology, procedures, and documentation standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional medical transcription experience
- Proficient in medical terminology (anatomy, pharmacology, disease processes)
- Typing speed of 85+ words per minute with exceptional accuracy
- Certification in medical transcription (CMT or RHIT preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transcription software (e.g., Express Scribe, MModal)
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to error-free documentation
