Responsibilities
- Convert audio and video recordings into accurate, verbatim, or non-verbatim text formats using industry-standard software.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure high-quality grammar, punctuation, and factual accuracy.
- Adhere to specific style guides and client requirements for formatting and content.
- Manage multiple audio files efficiently to meet strict daily and weekly deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive medical and legal information.
- Identify and troubleshoot audio quality issues to ensure maximum clarity.
- Communicate effectively with the QA team regarding complex terminology or unclear audio.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven typing speed of 60+ words per minute with a high degree of accuracy.
- Exceptional command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and sentence structure.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet home office environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Express Scribe).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and have a valid Social Security Number.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
