Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings and convert them into accurate, verbatim text documents using industry-standard transcription software.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and overall clarity before submission.
- Adhere to strict client guidelines, formatting standards, and confidentiality agreements at all times.
- Manage your daily workflow efficiently to meet tight turnaround times and production quotas.
- Research and resolve ambiguous audio segments or unfamiliar terminology using available resources.
- Maintain a dedicated, distraction-free home office environment to ensure high productivity levels.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on new medical/legal terminology and software updates.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required; a degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in transcription with a typing speed of at least 60 WPM.
- Excellent command of the English language, including advanced grammar and vocabulary skills.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated computer system.
- Familiarity with transcription equipment and software (e.g., Express Scribe, Dragon NaturallySpeaking) is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to pass a background check and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards.
