Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage complex provider-patient appointment schedules across multiple departments
- Utilize EMR systems (Epic preferred) to optimize calendar utilization and minimize downtime
- Communicate schedule changes to providers and patients via phone, email, and patient portal
- Resolve scheduling conflicts with empathy and professionalism while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Analyze scheduling data to identify efficiency improvements and implement solutions
- Collaborate with billing department for insurance verification and prior authorization coordination
- Train new staff on scheduling protocols and system navigation
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in medical scheduling or administrative coordination
- Proficiency with calendar management software (Outlook, Google Calendar) and EMR systems
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and accuracy
- High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare certification preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
