Responsibilities
- Lead System Design: Architect and oversee the development of advanced propulsion and guidance systems for spacecraft targeting the 2026 mission window.
- Simulation & Modeling: Develop high-fidelity simulation models to predict vehicle performance in deep space environments.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure all engineering designs adhere to NASA and FAA safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with the avionics, thermal, and structural engineering teams to integrate subsystems seamlessly.
- Technical Documentation: Produce comprehensive technical reports, specifications, and design reviews for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and provide technical mentorship to foster a culture of excellence.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related STEM field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in spacecraft design, propulsion systems, or orbital mechanics.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in C++, Python, MATLAB, and CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks).
- Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of rocket propulsion cycles, orbital dynamics, and mission planning.
- Certifications: Current Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to work under high-pressure timelines.
