Responsibilities
- Transcribe complex medical dictations with 98.5%+ accuracy across specialties (cardiology, oncology, radiology)
- Adhere to industry-specific formatting guidelines (BOS, AAMT standards)
- Utilize EHR systems and transcription software (e.g., MModal, Dictaphone)
- Identify and flag discrepancies in medical terminology for review
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA regulations
- Meet daily productivity quotas of 120-150 lines per hour
- Collaborate with physicians for clarification on unclear dictations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of acute care medical transcription experience
- Certificate from AHDI-approved program or equivalent
- Minimum 85 WPM typing speed with 100% accuracy
- Expert knowledge of medical terminology (anatomy, pharmacology)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based platforms
- Ability to manage high-volume workloads under tight deadlines
- Credential: Registered Healthcare Documentation Specialist (RHDS) preferred
