Responsibilities
- System Maintenance: Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues on our cloud infrastructure during off-peak hours.
- Code Deployment: Execute rigorous code reviews and deploy patches to production environments to ensure system stability.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize database queries and application performance to reduce latency.
- Incident Response: Lead the incident response process for critical alerts occurring during the night shift.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the day-shift engineering team via async communication to ensure seamless handovers.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and runbooks for all critical systems.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, preferably in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work a night shift schedule.
- Technologies: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go; experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Database Skills: Strong knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
