Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of physician dictation and transcribe reports into text format with high accuracy.
- Proofread and edit transcripts to ensure proper grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology usage.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality guidelines at all times.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) software and speech recognition tools effectively.
- Research medical terms and abbreviations to ensure precise documentation.
- Communicate with physicians or healthcare providers regarding unclear dictation or formatting requests.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding and billing practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or certification in Medical Transcription is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of professional medical transcription experience required.
- Strong command of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 60-70 WPM).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical transcription software (e.g., Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Emdat).
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines in a remote or studio environment.
