Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe medical dictations into electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Verify and edit transcribed reports for grammar, clarity, and medical terminology
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information per HIPAA regulations
- Meet daily productivity targets while ensuring 98%+ accuracy standards
- Collaborate with physicians to clarify ambiguous dictations
- Adhere to specific formatting guidelines for different medical specialties
- Utilize transcription software and digital foot pedals efficiently
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical transcription experience
- Proficiency in medical terminology (anatomy, pharmacology, procedures)
- 90+ words per minute typing speed with 98% accuracy
- Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner preferred)
- Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) or equivalent credential
- Exceptional grammar and proofreading skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
