Responsibilities
- Audio Transcription: Listen to audio recordings and accurately convert speech into text format using specialized transcription equipment provided by the company.
- Quality Assurance: Proofread and edit transcripts for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and medical/legal accuracy to ensure a final product of the highest standard.
- Format Compliance: Adhere strictly to specific client formatting guidelines, including headers, footers, and specific terminology usage.
- Deadline Management: Meet daily and weekly production targets while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- File Management: Securely upload completed files to our cloud-based client portal and manage daily logs and productivity reports.
- Equipment Maintenance: Properly utilize and care for the company-provided transcription hardware and software.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Transcription or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional transcription experience (medical, legal, or general). Experience with speech recognition software is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to navigate complex client portals.
- Typing Speed: Demonstrated ability to type at least 60-70 words per minute with high accuracy.
- Terminology: Strong command of medical and/or legal terminology and standard English grammar rules.
- Home Office: Must have a dedicated home workspace and a high-speed, reliable internet connection.
