Responsibilities
- Listen to audio recordings of medical dictation and transcribe them into text using provided transcription software.
- Ensure accuracy, grammar, and punctuation are perfect while maintaining the original meaning of the speaker.
- Format medical documents according to established clinical and legal guidelines.
- Proofread completed work for errors and make necessary corrections before submission.
- Communicate with healthcare providers regarding clarification of unclear dictation.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA compliance standards and confidentiality protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous transcription experience is preferred but not required (training provided).
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 60 WPM).
- Proficient in using computer hardware such as foot pedals and headsets.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
