Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe audio recordings into clear, grammatically correct text documents
- Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and HIPAA compliance for sensitive content
- Utilize specialized transcription software and foot pedals for efficient playback control
- Research and verify specialized terminology (legal/medical/technical) as needed
- Meet daily production quotas while maintaining superior quality standards
- Format documents according to client specifications (style guides, templates)
- Participate in quality assurance reviews to ensure 99.8% accuracy rate
Qualifications
- Minimum 60 WPM typing speed with 98% accuracy
- 2+ years professional transcription experience
- Proficiency in ExpressScribe, Dragon, or equivalent transcription software
- Exceptional grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills
- Ability to understand diverse accents and complex terminology
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and quiet home office
- Strong time management and deadline adherence capabilities
- Associate's degree or equivalent certification preferred
